A pimples in Slovakia. No goods to Poland to Poland

The borders of Poland will be closed to the import of selected products from Slovakia in a relationship of pimples – according to the ordinance of the Minister of Agriculture. This applies, among others, to milk and meat.

The ministry stated that the issue of the regulation is a reaction to the information of the European Commission and Slovak Veterinary Services about the statement of three outbreaks of pimples on farms located on Slovakia (in the Dunaje Streda poviat, at the southern border with Hungary).

Products from Slovakia are banned

Goods under the ban on imports from Slovakia are:
– evenly maintained animals and wild and biological material of these animals; – fresh meat, offal, minced meat, mechanically separated meat, raw meat products, casings and meat products obtained from evenly -the -venous animals maintained and wild; – raw milk, colostrum and dairy products obtained from parliamentary animals; – animal by -products and derivative products obtained from even -time animals maintained and wild; – manure, straw and hay.

MRIRW reported in a statement that the regulation comes into force the day after the announcement and will apply until the European Commission is adopted. He added that the Veterinary Inspection together with the Police, the National Tax Administration and the Road Transport Inspectorate conducts controls of animal and products transports at border crossings.

Richard Tycz, Minister of Agriculture, informed about obtaining research confirming the appearance of three outbreaks in the south of Slovakia. In his opinion, there will most likely be broken by whole herds. Even before the official confirmation of the disease, the ban on transport susceptible to the pimples of animals from Slovakia introduced the Czech veterinary services. 24-hour transport inspections on borders and within the country also apply.

What is a pimple?

The pimples are a highly contagious and dangerous viral disease of parliamentary and wild tarpaulin animals. Sheep, goats, pigs and cattle are particularly at risk. In the event of an outbreak of the disease, all animals on farms must be broken. Wild animals are also attacked. The last time the disease appeared in Czechoslovakia in 1975. In Poland, the last case was found in 1971. World Health Organization Animals (WOAH) recognizes Poland as a pimples free country.

The pimples are not dangerous for people who can get infected as a result of direct contact with the sick animal and its secretions, as well as by consuming unpasteurized products from infected animals.
