Fire of a delivery vehicle on the A2 highway near Poddębice in the Łódź Voivodeship. Two people, the driver and a passenger, evacuated from the vehicle before firefighters arrived. Nothing happened to them.
The incident occurred on Thursday around 7 a.m. on the A2 motorway in the Poddębice area, on the lane towards Warsaw.
– Around 7 a.m. we received a report about a fire in a delivery vehicle on the A2 motorway. There were 2 people traveling in the car. The driver and passenger left the vehicle before firefighters arrived. Nothing happened to them. The car was not carrying any cargo. No other vehicles were involved in the incident – said Brigadier Radosław Ogrodowczyk, press officer of the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Poddębice.

Temporary traffic disruptions
Three fire brigades worked on site. For the duration of the operations, traffic on the highway towards Warsaw was temporarily blocked and then diverted.

– Now the situation is back to normal. Traffic is flowing smoothly, the firefighter added.
