The luminous vortex appeared over Poland. It was a deorbitation of the Falcon 9 rocket. This is not the end of cosmic attractions, because this Saturday there will be a partial solar eclipse. “You can't miss it,” said Karol Wójcicki, author of the profile “with the head in the stars” on “you get up and you know” on TVN24.
On Tuesday, after 21 o'clock, Falcon 9 was deorbit. A characteristic, luminous spiral appeared in the sky.
– This is not a common phenomenon in our sky. Last year, we were able to observe something in Poland three times – said in “you get up and you know” on TVN24 Karol Wójcicki, author of the profile “with the head in the stars”. – This year we have been hunting for it once, but it failed. And yesterday such a surprise, half of Poland saw it – he added.
Deorbitation Falcona 9 over Poland
As the astronomy popularizer said, on Tuesday around 19:00 Falcon 9 took off with a secret military mission called NROL-69. The goal was to place a low satellite to a low orbit.
– Rocket, after two laps of our planet, already placing the satellite on the appropriate orbit, was preparing for deorbitation. In order for this maneuver to run smoothly, the remains of fuel must be thrown out of it first. And because it takes place in a cosmic vacuum, when this gas is released, the rotating rocket gives it such a spiral shape. Phenomenon highlighted by the light of the sun still shallow above the horizon, from a perspective spaceit gave such effects – he said.
As he explained, “you get up and you know” Astronomy popularizer, a dump that many people distress, does not occur into the atmosphere. – This gas is scattered at a height of several hundred kilometers, in a giant area. Even if any remains of this fuel reached the atmosphere, they would enter at high speed and completely disintegrate. Nothing reaches us, nothing threatens us – he added.
Partial solar eclipse
This is not the end of cosmic attractions, because in Saturday 29 March.
– This Saturday, around noon, there will be a partial solar eclipse – said Wójcicki. He added that to watch this phenomenon safely, you should get the right glasses. “You can't miss it,” he said. He added that the phenomenon will start at 11.30 and will last until around 13. – It will be best visible in northwestern Poland, in Świnoujście, Szczecin. There, about 16 percent of the shield will be covered – he explained. The worst conditions for observation will have residents Rzeszów, PrzemyślBieszczady.
