Andrzej Dera about the dispute about ambassadors: There is an agreement, there will be information about the first nominations soon

Andrzej Dera was asked in “Kropka nad i” whether soon there may be a breakthrough regarding the dispute about the ambassador in USA. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wanted Bogdan Klich to be in this position, but the president did not agree to this nomination, so now this politician directs the embassy in Washington as Chargé d'Affaires.

– There is already an agreement in this matter. And finally, a representative of the government, i.e. representatives of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, talk to (presidential – ed.) Chancellery, talk to the president. There are arrangements and it is as it should be and it has always been – he said.

– I will not talk about the President's personal decisions in the studio. Because they are agreeing with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski. Soon you will learn about the first nominations, because they are already passing through the path they should – Dera continued.

At the same time, he added that Klich “certainly” would not be an ambassador.

In recent days, unofficial information has appeared, provided, among others, by Gazeta.pl and the Polish Press Agency, that between the president Andrzej Duda And the Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski may receive a specific contract in the dispute over months of ambassadors. The president would agree to the candidates for ambassadors submitted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Australia, Serbia, Slovenia and in a permanent representation at the EU. In such a variant, the president would be willing to accept Bogdan Klich as a representative of Poland at UN in New York. In this scenario, the current representative of the UN Krzysztof Szczerskiformerly a close associate of Duda in the KPRP, would move to Washington and take the function of an ambassador in the USA.
