Heavy rainfall has been passing through southern France for several days. On Saturday, the popular tourist town of Saint-Tropez was partially flooded. The firefighters had their hands full.
The Var department was one of three under an orange weather alert at the time due to downpours on Saturday evening.
The effects of heavy rainfall were particularly felt in Saint-Tropez, where roads were flooded and water entered shops and restaurants. On Sunday morning, services and residents removed mud from roads and sidewalks.

In the south of France, heavy rainfall is also forecast on Sunday. Warnings are in force in several departments and the Var department is under alert level 2.
On Friday, a record amount of rain fell in the town of Vidauban in this department. The streets were under water and some people were evacuated.
