Barbara Nowak has replaced Michał Drewnicki as PiS's representative in Kraków, the politician dismissed from this position announced on Monday. “This cannot be true. Someone would have to lose touch with reality to dismiss Michał Drewnicki,” Beata Szydło commented on the change.
Current representative PIS in Krakow, Michał Drewnicki announced on social media that he had been dismissed from this position. “I have just received information that a new PiS representative in Krakow, Ms. Barbara Nowak, has been appointed. As of today, I am no longer her representative. The dismissal is not related to the reservations about my work,” he wrote on the X portal.
“I thank everyone for the hard and often Sisyphean work since last year. We have appointed task forces, collected record numbers of signatures in record time, and finally we have gone out into the field, and this at the most difficult moment for the party – after the lost parliamentary elections. Now I am focusing on my work as a councilor! Of course, I wish my successor good luck,” he said.
The information about the change in position was confirmed by the leader of the party in Małopolska, Łukasz Kmita, in an interview with Radio Kraków.
Szydło: this can't be true
The former prime minister, PiS MEP Beata Szydło, commented on the matter. “This cannot be true. Someone would have to lose touch with reality to dismiss Michał Drewnicki,” she wrote.
“Michał is a symbol and a super boss of the structures for the Krakow PiS. Young, energetic, conciliatory, with ideas. And above all, he is a man who led the Krakow PiS in a very difficult time. He fought when others were running away,” she added.
