The Olsztyn-Północ District Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation into the death of a girl, which occurred on Tuesday at one of the properties in Barczewo (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship). A seven-year-old girl was severely bitten by her family's dogs. So far, no one has been charged. The investigation will be conducted into the child's exposure to direct loss of health or life.

The Olsztyn-Północ District Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation into the tragic event that took place on Tuesday on one of the properties near Barczewo in the Olsztyn district. Around 2 p.m., the body of a seven-year-old girl bitten by dogs was discovered there. There were two kennels on the farm: French bulldogs and Great Danes.

According to the police, the child was staying with his family and was familiar with dogs.

– The prosecutor's office initiated an investigation into exposing the child to a direct threat of loss of life or serious damage to health by failing to take care of the child, allowing the child to have contact with Great Dane dogs, which bit the child, resulting in serious injuries, which unintentionally resulted in the girl's death. This offense is punishable by a penalty of 3 months to 5 years of imprisonment – says Piotr Machul, District Prosecutor of the Olsztyn-Północ District Prosecutor's Office, explaining that no charges have been brought against anyone yet.

He adds that although there were many more dogs in the lot, six Great Danes were observed.
