IMWM issued first degree meteorological alerts. Forecasters warn of icy conditions that may appear on roads and sidewalks this night and on Saturday morning. Check where the weather will be dangerous.
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.
IMWM warnings – icing
First degree anti-icing alerts have been issued in the following voivodeships:
- Warmian-Masurian Voivodeshipoutside western counties;
- Podlasiein the following counties: Grajewo, Kolno, Łomża, Łomża, Zambrowski;
- Masovian Voivodeshipin eastern counties;
- Lublin Province;
- Świętokrzyskieoutside western counties;
- Podkarpackie;
- Lesser Polandexcept for counties located in the north-west of the region;
- Silesianin southern counties;
- Opole provincein southern counties;
- Lower Silesiain the south of the region.
In these areas, wet road surfaces and sidewalks are expected to freeze after light rain and sleet, causing them to become icy. The minimum temperature will be from -1 to 1 degree Celsius, the minimum temperature at the ground will drop to about -2 degrees Celsius.
The alerts will expire at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
