All this may affect us – said the president of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK), Tomasz Chróstny, in the “You get up and know” program on TVN24. He referred in this way to the growing popularity of so-called deferred payments. He said that consumers' too hasty approach to this service “is a trap” and “a very real problem.”

Pitfalls of deferred payments
– This is a trap that we have been warning against, among other things, from today. We run the “Check if you can afford” campaign. This deferred purchase, very popular on websites and e-commerce, is in fact a loan, which we often forget about, he said.
The President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection emphasized that “all consequences, including BIK entry, if we fail to make the repayment on time – editor's note) may affect us.”
Chróstny said that “this is a very real problem.” – The growing scope of “Buy now, pay later” services means that we have to keep our finger on the pulse now – he said, referring to the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) campaign.
– We may have long-term consequences in the form of problems with creditworthiness if we use this service imprudently – argued Chróstny.
