11 goals and seven assists in 39 matches – these are the statistics of the previous season that Bartłomiej Wdowik, who won the Polish championship with Jagiellonia Białystok, can boast! The great form of the Polish defender did not escape the attention of foreign clubs. He was quickly approached by the Portuguese Braga, who paid 1.5 million euros. As a result, Wdowik had a new employer from 1 July.

Another twist in the Wdowik case. The Germans are talking about the transfer

The 23-year-old, however, failed to settle into his new surroundings quickly and properly. After his transfer, he played just 18 minutes in Braga's Europa League qualifier against Hapoel Be'er Sheva. He spent the rest of the matches on the bench, and we sometimes saw him in the stands. If that wasn't enough, the Portuguese brought in former Legia Warsaw left-back Yuri Ribeiro, which made Wdowik's situation even more complicated.

For this reason, there was increasing talk of his return to Jagiellonia after less than two months. “There are many indications that he will succeed. After bringing in Yuri Ribeiro, Braga agreed to let the Pole go on loan, and Wdowik himself agreed to return to Białystok. However, Braga's consent to a specific transaction in the form of a loan to Jagiellonia is still pending” – Jakub Seweryn from Sport.pl wrote a few days ago.

It turns out that there has been another twist in the future of the one-time Polish international! Tomasz Włodarczyk from the Meczyki.pl portal reported that Hannover 96 is currently interested in signing the Pole. This is a two-time German champion, who currently plays in the Bundesliga's lower leagues. Local portals also quickly began to write about Bartłomiej Wdowik. According to “Bild”, Hannover's interest in Wdowik is really big. At the moment, the most likely scenario is a loan from Braga with an option to buy by the Germans. Therefore, the topic of returning to Białystok can be considered irrelevant at the moment.

“Hannover's sports director Marcus Mann has clearly intervened at exactly the right time and is now set to sign Wdowik. He is fast and strong (1.84 m). He can fill the gap that was created after the sale of Derrick Kohn (for 3.35 million to Galatasaray – ed.) on the left side of the defence,” we read. The Pole's club future in the recently started season will be clarified in the coming months. After three rounds of the 2nd Bundesliga, Honnover is in third place in the table with seven points. Wdowik's contract with Braga is valid until the end of June 2028, and his market value is around three million euros.
