In the “W Kuluarach” program, journalists from TVN24 and “Fakty” TVN discussed the presidential candidates' ideas for winning the elections. What does the team of PiS candidate Karol Nawrocki care about? – They care about recognition. A refrigerator on his back, running, boxing are what make him recognizable and they build it on that – said Arleta Zalewska. Agata Adamek said that one of the plans of the staff of KO candidate Rafał Trzaskowski is to tour Poland following the “inverted letter L”.
In the “W Kuluarach” program, journalists from TVN24 and “Fakty” TVN discussed current political events, including the ongoing competition between candidates in next year's presidential elections. They talked about the ideas of individual staffs for the current pre-campaign and the campaign that will be officially announced.
Arleta Zalewska said that she “talked to the staff of Karol Nawrocki”, who is the candidate of Law and Justice. – I asked them what they cared about today. Of course, this is the simplest thing, they care about recognition. A refrigerator on his back, running, boxing are what make Karol Nawrocki recognizable and they build it on that – she pointed out.
– I know that they had prepared several spots about sports issues and they will no longer broadcast them because they believe that this topic is overheating – added the reporter of “Fakty” TVN. – Staff members claim that this is “enough” – she emphasized.
She noted that the change in approach was visible even on Saturday at a meeting with residents in Lublin. Nawrocki was asked how much weight he presses on a flat bench. He answered by giving kilograms, but – emphasized Zalewska – “when this question was asked, he said: yes, but I am also a doctor and the president of the Institute of National Remembrance and I have substantive preparation.”
“Inverted letter L”. The idea of Trzaskowski's staff
Agata Adamek talked about the plans of the staff of the Civic Coalition candidate Rafał Trzaskowski. As she explained, “their plan is for their candidate to tour Poland in the shape of an inverted letter L.”
– Going out of order – she pointed out. – It is to tour the entire eastern part of Poland and it will start from Podkarpacie – she added.
Zalewska noted that the Civic Coalition's candidate will visit Podkarpacie on Friday. – And these will not be big cities, but small towns – she added.
Adamek added that there should be no large meetings in this region. – These will be smaller meetings, for several dozen people, with selected groups, various groups that will be selected by the staff – she said.
“Everything is based on one assumption: Poles are fed up with this duopoly”
Journalists also talked about the actions of Szymon Hołownia, the leader of Poland 2050 and the Speaker of the Sejm, who was running in the elections.
As Zalewska said, “he is certainly an experienced politician, more experienced than Karol Nawrocki.” – But the tragedy of the Hołownia team is that they are afraid that it will be below 10 percent – she added.
According to Piotr Kraśka, “everything is based on one assumption: Poles are fed up with duopoly.”
– It's a bit like Poles have had either Trzaskowski and Tusk on the one hand, or Kaczyński and Nawrocki on the other for years. And now Poles want something different, he said.
– Only the data do not confirm it. In 2005, when PiS and Platform were fighting for power for the first time, they won 50 percent of the votes. After 18 years in 2023, they won 65 percent of the votes. It is not that subsequent elections confirm that people are fed up with the Platform and PiS, said the journalist. And – as he assessed – “the whole idea for the campaign of Szymon Hołownia, Sławomir Mentzen and other candidates is based on the assumption that people are fed up with the PiS or Platform division.” – I don't have the impression that Poles are fed up, Kraśko said.
