A 57-year-old bus driver heard the allegation of causing a road accident with a fatal effect. The man had nearly three per mille of alcohol in his body.

A tragic accident occurred on Monday after 20 on national road No. 24 in Chełmsk (Lubuskie Voivodeship). The bus collided with the Renault van.

– The impact force of both vehicles was very high. A 49-year-old driver of the van was killed in the accident. The bus driver was taken to hospital. It turned out that the 57-year-old was intoxicated and had nearly three per mille of alcohol in his body.

“He deliberately violated the safety rules”

The man heard the allegations. – Between the towns of Chełmsko and Przytoczy, he deliberately violated the rules of safety in land traffic in such a way that, being in a state of intoxication – 1.43 mg per liter of alcohol in the breath (in terms of nearly 3 per mille of alcohol in the body – ed.) Running a bus and going to his direction, caused a traffic lane inadvertently. He led to a collision with a Renault bus on the opposite and moving lane. As a result, bus driver Rafał R. suffered injuries to death at the scene – says Mariola Wojciechowska -Grześkowiak, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office.
