A pregnant 30-year-old woman choked on food in her apartment in Chorzów (Silesia). The husband who was present at the scene called an ambulance. The doctor who arrived at the scene decided to perform an immediate caesarean section – at the same time, the mother's resuscitation was ongoing. Only the child was saved and his condition is still serious. The prosecutor's office initiated an investigation to explain why this happened.
The woman was 30 years old. She was 9 months pregnant. According to the findings of the investigation, her husband called an ambulance because she was choking on food. The head of the Chorzów prosecutor's office, Sabina Kuśmierska, emphasizes that investigators are still investigating whether choking was the cause of the tragedy.

– The call concerned a pregnant woman in sudden cardiac arrest. The doctor decided to perform an emergency caesarean section, said Justyna Sochacka, spokeswoman for LPR, on Tuesday.
The cutting was done on site, in the apartment. The child – a girl – managed to be saved, but unfortunately the woman, despite attempts to resuscitate her, died on the spot. The child, in a serious condition, was transported to the Upper Silesian Children's Health Center in Katowice.
He is still in intensive care in the neonatology department – The child's condition is still serious. Doctors are still fighting for his life, says Wojciech Gumułka, spokesman for GCZD.
The girl has siblings. According to the prosecutor's office, the deceased woman had an older child.

The district prosecutor's office in Chorzów is investigating the unintentional manslaughter of a 30-year-old woman who died last Monday in her apartment at Rejtana Street in this city. An autopsy took place on Thursday. .
