The police in Choszczno (West Pomeranian Voivodeship) received a report about the theft of a car. The officers quickly located the car and signaled the driver to stop. However, the man ignored the policemen. Warning shots were fired.
The incident took place on October 24 in the afternoon in Choszczno. The police received a report about the theft of a Ford car.
Senior Sergeant Mariusz Kosiorek, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Choszczno, said that the officers quickly found the wanted vehicle and ordered the driver to stop. – The man did not comply with the commands, as a result of which the officers fired warning shots. Finally, we managed to stop the car, he added.
The officers detected the odor of alcohol on the man's breath, but he refused to blow into the breathalyzer, so blood was taken for further tests.
The Choszczno resident was detained.
