The police will check the sobriety of drivers and will also respond to incorrect behavior of car drivers towards pedestrians, especially in the area of pedestrian crossings.

– We will also control the use of reflective elements by pedestrians traveling on the road outside built-up areas after dark – said Rzeczkowski.

He also appealed to drivers to be careful and considerate and not to get behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol. – Let's remember about the safety of both ourselves and other road users, regardless of how many kilometers we have to cover – he said. He added that the police will also check how children are transported and the technical condition of the vehicles.

– Anyone who violates road traffic regulations, thereby exposing others to the risk of loss of life or health, should take into account severe consequences – warned Rzeczkowski.

Appeal to drivers

The spokesman for the Motor Transport Institute, Mikołaj Krupiński, pointed out that increased traffic on the roads, changeable weather and quickly falling dusk may pose serious difficulties.

– Before leaving, check the technical condition of the car and secure your luggage appropriately. An object weighing only one kilogram can increase its weight by up to 50 times during a collision at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour, which poses a threat to passengers, he noted.

Krupiński drew attention to the need to rest before the journey. He added that during training you should take several-minute breaks every 2-3 hours. – Avoid energy drinks, which may cause nervousness and a quick loss of concentration. A better choice will be water and dark chocolate, which support concentration, he noted.

He added that the optimal temperature in the car during travel is 20-22 degrees Celsius.

Krupiński recalled that last year, failure to adapt speed to driving conditions was the cause of 22 percent of accidents. road accidents. – It is important that nothing and no one distracts the driver – for one kilometer of the route he has to make from 8 to 12 decisions, having fractions of seconds to do so – he said.
