Civic Coalition Convention. The Prime Minister is to announce Poland's migration strategy

The National Council of the Civic Platform and the Civic Coalition convention will start at 11 a.m. They will be devoted primarily to summarizing the past year since the parliamentary elections and discussing current issues. It is also intended – as PO politicians say – to mobilize activists and voters of the Platform a year after the elections, and slowly also to enter next year's presidential elections.

– We will, of course, talk about what happened last year and what happened this year. This will not be some summary or boring enumeration of hundreds of changes that the government has introduced. More of an attempt to look into the past, refer to the atmosphere of the October 15 elections and answer where we are, where we are heading – said the head of the Prime Minister's Office in the Sejm on Friday Jan Grabiec.

He added that, apart from a few specific details that will be discussed, the convention will be an opportunity to assess to what extent the vision of the government's functioning has been implemented and to determine the course of action. – Our voters must clearly know which direction the government is heading – noted Grabiec.

The head of government is to announce Poland's multi-annual migration strategy during the event. – The Prime Minister believes that this topic is currently one of the most important in Europe and one of the most important for the future of Poland – said the head Ministry of Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak. He added that his ministry had been working on the strategy for many weeks. The work was supervised by Deputy Minister Maciej Duszczyk.

The document is to be dealt with on Tuesday Council of Ministers. As explained by the head of the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers Maciej Berekthe adoption of a resolution on the migration strategy by the government will result in the adoption of a package of laws regulating, among others, visa granting issues. – We already have such draft bills in progress, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Interior, the Minister of Science and the Minister of Labor are working on them – said Berek.

Donald Tusk he spoke about migration during Tuesday's away meeting of the KO parliamentary club in Otwock. According to PAP's interlocutors, the PO leader did not talk about specific solutions to be included in the migration strategy, but mainly about the importance of the problem and that it is a plan that must be implemented by all of Europe. He also warned PO politicians to explain to them in conversations with voters that the pressure of migrants from… Belarus is a real threat, and the situation on the border resembles a war landscape. As one of the politicians noted, some voters expected the Platform to have a different attitude towards migrants on the Polish-Belarusian border than the one implemented by the government. PIS.

On Wednesday, Donald Tusk announced that the Polish migration strategy will not only be a program to fight illegal migration, but will also be a modern migration policy designed to last for years, a proposal for the entire European Union. He added that this will require a change in European policy paradigms. He pointed out that both Poland and European Union are under pressure from migration resulting “from wars, famine, overpopulation around Europe”.
