The average expected life expectancy for the 60-year-old during the year increased by 2.2 months, and the 65-year-old increased by 1.9 months-according to the life tables published by the Central Statistical Office (GUS). These data affect the amount of pensions.
“This plaque is the basis for granting pensions for applications submitted from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026,” says GUS.
According to the CSO tables, the 60 -year -old will have 266.4 months of life in front of 264.2 months recorded in the boards published a year ago.
In turn, the 65 -year -old has 220.8 months of life to 218.9 years ago.

GUS data Łukasz Kozłowski commented on the main economist of the Federation of Polish Entrepreneurs (FPP) in social media.
He noted that the new boards will be used from April to calculate the height of the awarded pensions.
“The expected length of further life for 60-year-olds is now 22.2 years, and 65-year-olds 18.4 years. Both values are the highest in history,” wrote the economist.
“How will this affect the amount of pensions? For a person retiring at the age of 60 (retirement age of women), the pension will be lower by 0.83 percent compared to existing boards. For 65-year-olds, the reduction will be 0.86 percent.” – we read in Kozłowski's post.

In turn, the pension expert and the labor market, the founder of the retirement debate, Oskar Sobolewski wrote in social media that “the new CSO tables regarding the further life of life show that we live longer, longer than before pandemic.” “Boards are needed to calculate pensions, i.e. that people who will retire from 1/4/25 to 31/3/26 ZUS will in principle take into account new boards” – he explained.
