A 27-year-old is facing up to five years in prison for grabbing the phone from an 11-year-old's hand near a playground in Czermin (Podkarpackie Voivodeship), throwing it on the pavement and then driving away. When the police stopped him, he said he was upset because he had lost his driving license that day. He also thought the boy was recording him.
Everything happened on Saturday (October 19) after 15 near the playground in Czermin in the Mielec poviat.
– A car approached two boys, aged 11 and 13, and a man got out of the passenger side and demanded that the younger boy give him his phone, says Deputy Commissioner Bernadetta Krawczyk, press officer of the Mielec police.

He adds that the boy was terrified.
– The man grabbed the phone from the boy's hand and threw it on the pavement with all his might, then got into the car and drove away. The phone was completely damaged,” the policewoman reports.
The officers interviewed witnesses of the incident, secured CCTV footage and identified the perpetrator. He turned out to be a 27-year-old resident of the Czermin commune.
He thought the boy was recording him

The man was charged with a crime of hooliganism by intentionally damaging a mobile phone. He faces up to five years in prison for destroying property.
