In Denmark, there were demonstrations against the attitude of US President Donald Trump, who talks about the need to take over Greenland. Over three thousand people protested in Copenhagen, in Aarhus – several hundred.
“Greenland is not for sale”, “Greenland belongs to the Greenlanders”, “USA, unhook” – said inscriptions on banners erected in front of the United States embassy in Copenhagen. Many demonstrators had Greenland flags with them.
Among the speech was, among others, a former social democratic Minister of Foreign Affairs Denmark and chairman of the General Assembly UN in 2015-16 Mogens Lykketoft. – We must fight for our reasons at the UN forum, where most countries will condemn American aggression against Greenland, and then turn to 70 percent of Americans directly, who oppose the conquest of the island – said Lykketoft.
In the second largest city of Denmark, Aarhus, a protest against politics USA organized by students.
“Berlingke” newspaper based on a digital tool to determine the number of the congregation estimated that 3,300 people gathered in Copenhagen. In turn, Aarhus was to protest 100-300 people.

JD Vance visited Greenland
On Friday, a visit to the American military space base Pituffik in Greenland was made by the Vice President of the USA JD Vance. Trump's collaborator criticized the Denmark authorities for alleged neglect of defense investments in Greenland, and also proposed to take over the island with a safety umbrella in place of Denmark.
Earlier, the delegation of the US authorities under the leadership of Vance's wife – Usha, was to visit the capital of Greenland – Nuk and admire the dog sled race in Sisimiut. After the protests of the Greenland government and the local population, these plans were canceled.
