We are reaching some kind of madness in which a doctor is accused of treating people and a notary is accused of preparing deeds – said the dismissed deputy minister of development.

The reason The confusion surrounding Jacek Tomczak was caused by the housing loan he supported. As reported by the portal wirtualnapolska.pl, his notary office has been providing mass services to developer companies for years. “Over the last four years, this law firm has made money on notarial deeds related to the sale of at least 1,717 apartments. In total, the Tomczak law firm was involved in 3,601 notarial deeds between developers and their clients. According to our estimates, this number of transactions handled is several million zlotys of revenue for the law firm.” – we read.
The Polish Association of Developer Companies reacted to the scandal. “Attempts to combine notarial services provided to Poznań companies by the Tomczak Law Firm with the activities of the Association are groundless and unjustified. We have been conducting a dialogue on the needs of the industry for years – in an open and transparent manner, and our goals and ideas are fully accessible. For years we have been putting forward demands that would make that apartments would be more available and prices lower and we are talking to everyone who aims to respond to the housing needs of Poles,” we read in the PZFD press release.
Jacek Tomczak was appointed on December 18, 2023 by Prime Minister Donald Tusk as Secretary of State (Deputy Minister) at the Ministry of Development and Technology. On Wednesday the 30th October he resigned.
