The woman's nightmare lasted nearly a year. According to investigative findings, the man started quarrels, insulted and beat his 91-year-old mother. The order to leave the apartment and the prohibitions of approaching did not help.

Policemen have repeatedly visited the place where the 91-year-old lives with her son. They issued orders to leave the apartment and prohibitions to approach the victim. However, the 49-year-old did not follow them. Everything changed after the last visit.

“In connection with the procedure of the Blue Card, the district card contacted the employees of the Municipal Family Support Center in Siedlce to check the situation in the family together. The visit in which two district and social workers took part in participation, turned out to be crucial. When the door opened a 91-year-old woman, they noticed the visible injury on her face and body. The ambulance that took her to the hospital, “says the police in Siedlce in a communiqué.

Her son was gone. He was detained the next day, and the District Prosecutor's Office in Siedlce, which initiated an investigation into a physical and mental abuse of a 91-year-old, charged him with allegations.

Art. 207 § 1a. Who physically or mentally abuses a clumsy person due to his age, mental or physical state, is subject to the penalty of imprisonment from 6 months to 8 years. 156 § 1, shall be punishable by imprisonment from 3 months to 5 years.

He started brawls, jerked, pushed and beat

– Jarosław K. is suspected of the fact that in the period from May 2024 to March 2025 in Siedlce, in a common place of residence with Niekadna due to the injured age, he abused her in such a way that he started quarrels, jerked, pushed, called using words widely recognized as abusive, he fists his head and kicked all over his body. On the night of March 2-3, he caused her injuries, which belong to the medium category. There was a violation of the organs of her body for a period exceeding seven days – says Krystyna Gołąbek, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Siedlce

At the request of the prosecutor, the District Court in Siedlce applied a temporary detention on Jarosław K. for three months.

“Family violence can apply to anyone, regardless of the origin, material status, age, sex, education. It can take the form of physical, mental, sexual and economic violence. All these forms can occur simultaneously or independently of each other” – remind police officers.

Domestic violence is a one -off or repetitive intentional action or omission, using the physical, mental or economic advantage, violating the rights or personal rights of a person experiencing domestic violence, in particular: a) exposing that person to the danger of losing his life, health or property, b) violating his dignity, bodily inviolability or freedom, including sexual health mental, causing this person suffering or harm, d) limiting or depriving this person of access to financial resources or the possibility of taking up a job or obtaining financial independence, e) significantly violating the privacy of this person or arousing a sense of danger, humiliation or torment, including undertaken by electronic means of communication. Types of domestic violence: 1. Physical violence; 2. Mental violence; 3. Economic violence; 4. sexual violence; 5. Cyberbullying.

Alarm number 112

“Everyone who hears the sounds of a row behind the wall or crying children can react and help victims of violence to oppose the aggressor. Just call, even anonymously, on Alarm number 112. Each such application will check the police, and if necessary, they will take appropriate legal steps to counteract domestic violence or other prohibited acts. Remember that Family abuse is a crime punishable by imprisonment up to 5 years. However, in the so -called Recidices of the Penal Code for physical or mental abuse of a person closest to a person or another person remaining in a permanent or transient relationship of dependence provides for imprisonment up to 7.5 years” – remind police officers.
