Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Thursday pays a visit to France, where the peak of several dozen countries will take place. Conversations will concern commitment to help Ukraine. The head of the Polish government in front of the Elysee Palace was welcomed by French President Emmanuel Macron.
In total, 31 delegations will take part in the summit, which means that the group of participants is greater than during the first peak in Paris in February (the second took place in London). EU countries, Great Britain, as well as Canada I will be represented Norway. The President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelnski will also take part in the meeting.
The peak of the “Coalitions willing” in Paris
The summit is announced as a meeting of “Coalitions of Volunteers”, i.e. countries that want strong security guarantees for Kiev and are ready to get involved in their provision.
According to the French daily Les Echos, citing Macron's adviser, the goal of the summit is to “draw operational applications” from previous two meetings. The program includes four points: immediate help for Kiev, comprehensive weapon suspension, vocation of supporting forces to guarantee a possible truce, and long -term support of Ukraine. As Macron's adviser said, every leader will explain “what is ready to do”.
The peak takes place two days after the talks of US-Russia and US-Ukraine ended in Saudi Arabia regarding partial and temporary truce. Both sides of the war in Ukraine caused by Russia They agreed to refrain from using force and ensure safe navigation in the Black Sea and to stop attacks on energy infrastructure. European countries did not participate in these conversations.
