On Friday, the Portuguese Ministry of Health confirmed the failure of the electronic system of issuing death acts. As a consequence, there were numerous delays in organizing funerals throughout the country.
Referring to sources on Friday in the subordinate ministry of the Main Health Directorate (DGS), SIC and CMTV television reported that the system failure has been persisting for at least four days.
Numerous funerals delayed and temporarily canceled
According to media assessment, as a result of chaos related to system failure throughout the country delayed or temporarily canceled several hundred burials.
The management of DGS reported on Friday evening that IT specialists subordinate to the Ministry of Health are already conducting work to quickly restore the work of the electronic system of issuing death acts.
