In an accident that occurred on Wednesday evening in Dzierzgów (Łódź Voivodeship), a 21-year-old passenger car driver died. His vehicle was completely crushed by the truck it collided with.
The accident occurred after 8 p.m. on national road 70. – It was a collision between a truck and a passenger car, and the 21-year-old driver of the vehicle died on the spot – said Jędrzej Pawlak, spokesman for the Łódź fire brigade. He added that the truck driver was not injured.
The photos published by firefighters show that the passenger car was completely destroyed – the car has practically no hood and right side, and there are shreds of the roof. Firefighters had to gain access to the driver so that rescuers could get to him.

There was also a fuel leak, which firefighters had to pump into a nearby tank. After the accident, the road was blocked, two fire brigade units, two fire brigade units, police and a prosecutor worked on the spot. The causes of the incident are being investigated.
