Eclipse of the Sun, Moon and Mars in an interesting conjunction. When to look at the sky

The coming weeks will abound in unusual phenomena in the sky. As Damian Jabłeka, deputy director of the Silesian Planetarium and the author of the blog “Touch Heaven”, in addition to partial solar eclipse, a lunar eclipse and a conjunction of Mars and two stars from the constellation of twins will appear in the sky. These three objects are to set up in one line.

Jabłka also encouraged to look at the sky in the near future, because spring constellations will appear on it – including the most characteristic constellation of the Lion for this time.

– Some are already visible in the evening, but it is worth observing also in the second part of the night, because with time the spring constellations are higher and higher over the horizon and you can see them better – he said.

He also announced that on March 14 the moon eclipse will appear, although it will be very difficult to see in Poland. – The partial phase will be invisible from our country, because it will happen at sunrise. In front of the west of the moon it will enter the semi -shade phase, but its brightness will change very slightly, in addition it will be low over the horizon. But maybe he can see him – admitted the deputy director of the Silesian Planetarium.

On March 29, a partial solar eclipse can be expected. – The moon will cover about 15 percent of the solar disc. Although it is not much, with adequate protection of the equipment, especially the eyes, with the help of strong filters, intended for observing the sun, it will be clearly seen. This will be the most effective astronomical phenomenon in the coming months – said Damian Jabłek.

In April, Mars and Kastor and Pollux, i.e. the two brightest stars from the constellation of the twins, will come in in April – a similar brightness of the star and the planet are currently arranged in the shape of the letter L. At the beginning of April, however, Mars – just before he leaves this constellation – will create with the twins of “triplets”, i.e. one line from three points. On April 5, the moon will join them – the expert said.
