On October 29, the sad news about the death of Elżbieta Zającówna circulated in the media. The actress was 66 years old. Information about her departure was provided by the Association of Polish Stage Artists. “It is with great sadness and disbelief that we say goodbye to our colleague Elżbieta Zającówna, a member of ZASP, a graduate of the Krakow State Theater School, where she played the Girl and La Bayadère in the diploma play 'Piezo' by Mrożek. In one of the interviews she said: “I love to laugh, I love happy people people. This is how I want to live…” And this is how we will remember you. Goodbye, Elu!” – reported in the announcement. In the 1990s, Elżbieta Zającówna was one of the most popular Polish actresses. Viewers loved her for her role as Hanka in the series “Mothers, Wives and Lovers”, which once broke popularity records. The production was directed by Juliusz Machulski and Ryszard Zatorski and the fate of the main characters was followed by all of Poland. However, at some point in her career, the actress resigned from her profession. All because of health problems.

In the 1990s, she was one of the hottest names in show business. Interestingly, before she hit the stage, she dreamed of a career in sports, but these plans were thwarted by illness. Zającówna dealt with Willebrand's disease on a daily basis, which is associated with blood clotting disorders. Although her career was going great and she played not only in films and TV series, but also in the theater, at some point she decided to step into the background.
