President Donald Trump's adviser and billionaire Elon Musk spoke at the launch of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) election campaign via an online connection. The Tesla owner once again supported the far-right party and said that it was “the best hope for Germany.”
– AfD is the greatest hope for German – he said on Saturday Elon Musk during a broadcast speech during the official launch of the party's campaign in Halle, Saxony-Anhalt. – Fight for a great future for Germany – he called, greeted with an ovation by AfD supporters.
He said that “it's okay to feel proud of being German” and “to be proud of German culture and values”, which “are important not to be lost in some kind of multiculturalism”. “German culture” dates back “thousands of years” and even Julius Caesar was “impressed” by the fighting spirit of the Germanic tribes, Musk continued.

In his opinion, the current German government is clearly not interested in “the health and well-being of the German nation.” Instead, the government “aggressively suppresses freedom of opinion.” The AfD must therefore “fight, fight, fight”, especially for “more self-determination for Germany and countries in Europe and less for Brussels”, he added.
Alice Weidel, AfD leader: Make Germany great again!
After Musk's speech, AfD leader and party candidate for chancellor Alice Weidel said: – People, have you heard this? Americans are making their country great again and we are making our country great again. Make Germany great again! – reports the website of the daily “Bild”.
– I am very happy and proud to lead this party in the election campaign – said Weidel. – Let's make the AfD great, because only the AfD can save Germany, she urged.
