A cat named Archie, called the “vampire cat” by the media due to his appearance, is looking for a home. According to the employees of the shelter where he currently lives, he “does not like blood”, but he is sociable, although he also requires attention.

On Thursday, the BBC described the story of a cat named Archie, who looks a bit like a vampire thanks to his protruding upper fangs and large ears. As the British broadcaster writes, the cat “hunts for someone who will appreciate its diabolical appearance.” Staff at the RSPCA animal shelter in the eastern English city of Suffolk first rescued him out of concern for his welfare, and then began looking for a new home for him. And they have been looking for him for over 120 days.

Archie the cat 'can be a little cheeky'

Donna Rich, head of the shelter's cat department, told the station that she believed Archie would be the perfect companion because “this little 'vampurr' (an English portmanteau of the words vampire and purr – editor's note) is dying to meet someone special.” – Even though he doesn't like blood (…), Archie can be short-tempered when he's scared of something. So he needs a patient and understanding home, she added.

Rich describes Archie as “a beautiful cat who enjoys company and attention, but can be a little cheeky when overstimulated by people picking on him.” She added that the cat would need someone who understood its limitations and could keep it entertained. It will do best as the only cat in a house where there are no dogs. According to his current guardians, Archie also needs to be able to go outside to explore his surroundings.
