IMWM warns against severe frost. In southern Poland, temperatures are forecast to drop to as much as -15 degrees Celsius at night. Check where it will be dangerous.
Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued first-level warnings on a three-level, ascending scale.
IMWM warnings of the first degree – severe frost
First degree warnings against severe frost apply in the following voivodeships:
- Podkarpackiein the Bieszczady and Lesko counties;
- Lesser Polandin the following counties: Nowy Sącz, Nowy Targ and Tatra.
According to IMWM forecasts, the minimum temperature at night in the valleys may reach -13/-15 degrees Celsius.
The alarms will be in force until 8 a.m. on Sunday.
What are IMWM first degree warnings?
Conditions are expected to favor the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by road traffic, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
