The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management warns against severe frost. In southern Poland, the temperature may drop to -17 degrees Celsius during the next night. In turn, alerts were issued over the Baltic Sea due to gusty winds.
Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree meteorological warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.
IMWM warnings – severe frost
Yellow alerts have been issued for the following voivodeships:
- Lower Silesiacounties: Karkonosze, Jelenia Góra;
- Silesiancounties: Cieszyn, Żywiec, Bielsko, Bielsko-Biała;
- Lesser Polandcounties: Wadowice, Sucha, Nowy Targ, Tatra, Myślenice, Limanowski, Nowy Sącz, Nowy SączGorlice;
- Podkarpackiecounties: Jasło, Krosno, Sanok, Lesko, Bieszczady.
Locally, in mountain valleys, the minimum temperature will range from -17 to -14 degrees Celsius. It is forecast to be weak with an average speed of up to 10 kilometers per hour.
In the Lower Silesian, Silesian and Lesser Poland voivodeships, the warnings will come into force at 10 p.m. on Monday and will expire at 8 on Tuesday, and in Podkarpacie they will be valid at 1-8 on Tuesday.
IMWM warnings – strong wind
First degree warnings due to strong winds apply to the following voivodeships:
- West Pomeranian VoivodeshipSÅ‚awno County;
- Pomeraniancounties: Słupsk, Lębork, Wejherowo, Puck.
In the coastal zone, there will be winds with an average speed of up to 45 km/h, gusts up to 75 km/h, from the southwest and west.
The warnings will be valid from 9 p.m. on Monday until 19 on Tuesday.
