– Firefighting activities have been going on for three hours. The area of ​​operations has about 66 hectares and is constantly growing. We have 22 fire brigades on site. Our activities are supported by drones, quads, there is also a firefighting aircraft. Strong wind and swampy area are very difficult for us to operate – said after 6pm on TVN24 senior captain Paweł Bukrejewski from the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Augustów.

As the fireman donated, at the very beginning the fire front moved to farm and residential buildings, so firefighters had to focus on their defense. Later, the fire moved towards the Biebrza River.
