Iga Świątek defeated Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6:4, 6:2 on the night from Saturday to Sunday Polish time. She thus reached the fourth round of the US Open Grand Slam.
2. Prime Minister announces “great government general confession”
– I would really like us to make a big government confession at meetings with people in the coming months – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a meeting with ministers in connection with the anniversary of the signing of the August Agreements. He explained that it was about “meetings with groups that have some reasons to be concerned”. He added that “actually, this applies to each of the ministries”.
3. Children injured in a fire in Starogard Gdański died
Two children died – a five-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl. The news of their death came a day after the tenement house fire in Starogard Gdański. – The situation was critical due to the burnt respiratory tract – said the head of the Wielkopolska Burn Treatment Center in Ostrów Wielkopolski.
4. Ewa Bialik is dead
Ewa Bialik has diedprosecutor and former spokeswoman for the National Prosecutor's Office. Bialik was 58 years old. “She was a model of professionalism, always reliable and kind,” the former minister wrote on platform X Zbigniew Ziobro.
5. Israel Continues Offensive
Israeli troops continue large-scale operation in West Bank. Heavy fighting with Palestinian militants in Jenin refugee camp reported. Two attempted bombings in other parts of the West Bank were carried out overnight, and the perpetrators were shot dead.
