Fog. IMWM warnings in almost the entire country

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management warns of dense fog in almost all of Poland. Visibility in some places drops to 100 meters, which makes driving on the roads much more difficult.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings.

IMWM warnings – dense fog

First degree warnings apply to the following voivodeships:

  • West Pomeranian Voivodeshipoutside counties: ŚwinoujścieKamieński, Gryfice, Kołobrzeg, Koszalin, KoszalinSławno;
  • Pomeranianoutside the following poviats: Słupsk, SłupskWejherowo, Lębork, Puck;
  • Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship;
  • Warmian-Masurian Voivodeshipoutside the following counties: Kętrzyn, Węgorzewo, Giżycko, Gołdap, Olecko, Ełk, Pisz;
  • Podlasiecounties: Kolno, Łomża, Łomża, Zambrowski, Wysokie Mazowieckie;
  • Masovian Voivodeshipoutside Łosice County;
  • Łódź;
  • Greater Poland;
  • Lubuskie;
  • Lower Silesia;
  • Opole Province;
  • Silesian;
  • Lesser Poland;
  • Świętokrzyskie;
  • Podkarpackie;
  • Lublin Provinceoutside the following poviats: Hrubieszów, Chełm, ChełmWłodawa, Bialskie.

In some places visibility is limited to 100 meters. Locally, fog may deposit rime. The warnings will be valid until 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

What is a first-degree IMWM warning?

The first level warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by road traffic disruptions, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
