Politics has ripped out of Jarosław Kaczyński the values that were most important to his brother. At an avalanche-like pace, the president began to surround himself with people for whom values are only ridiculous – said Stanisław Kostrzewski, co-founder of PiS, former treasurer of the party, in “One on One” on TVN24.
Former Treasurer PIS Stanisław Kostrzewski was asked in “One on One” what politics had “ripped out” Jaroslaw Kaczynski. – Those values that were most important to his brother, of blessed memory Lech Kaczyński and for all the people who made up Mr. Lech Kaczyński's team – he replied.
– And these values can be defined most briefly: one must be a statesman in every situation, one can be a politician, and one must be a statesman if one decides to be one. These very values, respect for public money, leaning over all problems that are related to human frailty – he added.
– You know the saying that power corrupts. And absolute power corrupts absolutely – said the former PiS treasurer.
When asked if he recognizes Kaczyński now, he replied, “absolutely not.” “I wholeheartedly sympathize with this disaster and the death of those closest to me, the First Lady, the President, and I have noticed that it has had an impact on this man,” Kostrzewski said.
– However, at such an avalanche-like pace, the president began to surround himself with people for whom values are only ridiculous. When I tried to fight, the comments were made in this way: ridiculous, what does it matter? What counts is agency, effectiveness – he added.
