The District Prosecutor's Office in Lubin (Lower Silesia Province) has initiated an investigation to determine whether the kindergarten staff, where a four-year-old boy swallowed psychoactive tablets at the end of August, was negligent. The child was taken to hospital immediately after the incident.
The District Prosecutor’s Office in Legnica announced on Wednesday the initiation of an investigation into the case of a four-year-old boy from Lubin (Lower Silesian Voivodeship).
– The proceedings are to clarify whether on August 28, in one of the kindergartens in Lubin, a four-year-old was exposed to direct danger of loss of life or serious injury due to the fault of the facility's staff in connection with the boy swallowing an undetermined number of psychoactive tablets, as a result of which he fainted and then collapsed – said Liliana Łukasiewicz, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Legnica.
He found a blister with medication
According to the findings so far, the boy found a blister with pills while playing in the playground adjacent to the kindergarten. He swallowed the pills, and the kindergarten staff did not notice. When the child's mother was picking him up from the kindergarten, the boy was unsteady on his feet and there was no logical contact with him. – The child was taken to the hospital in Lubin. Due to the impossibility of determining what was wrong with him, he was transported to the intensive care unit of the hospital in Wrocław – reported prosecutor Łukasiewicz. According to investigators, it was not until around 7 p.m. that the kindergarten staff reported that the child could have taken drugs found in the yard and that they were psychoactive drugs. The prosecutor's investigation is also to clarify “whether and what kind of health disorder” the four-year-old suffered and where the psychoactive drugs came from on the kindergarten playground.
