“The planned date of entry into force of the Act is January 1, 2026” – Berek said.

A increase of PLN 3,000

During the consultation on the project, there were discrepancies between the Family Ministry and the Ministry of Finance regarding the amount of the increase. MRPiPS wanted to increase the amount of the allowance to 7,000. PLN and its valorisation. At first, the Ministry of Finance opted for an increase in the allowance to approx. 6,000 PLN 450. In turn, in the remarks that were received by the project this week, the Ministry of Finance agreed that the amount of funeral allowance would be determined in a fixed, proposed amount, i.e. in the amount of 7,000. zloty.

In the justification for the project, it was emphasized that the current amount of the funeral allowance (PLN 4,000) does not cover even the majority of the funeral costs. It was noted that the funeral costs currently amount to a minimum of 8-10 thousand. zloty. These amounts are different depending on the region of the funeral organization – in larger cities prices are usually higher than in the countryside or in smaller towns.
