The President of the Energy Regulatory Office approved an increase in the gas distribution tariff of Polska Spółka Gazownictwa by an average of 24.7 percent in 2025, the Energy Regulatory Office announced on Thursday. The new tariff will be valid from January 1 to December 31, 2025, and gas bills will increase from PLN 2 to even PLN 30 per month.

The Energy Regulatory Office announced on Tuesday that the President of the Energy Regulatory Office approved the distribution tariff of Polska Spółka Gazownictwa for 2025. Polska Spółka Gazownictwa is the operator of the gas distribution system in Poland. It supplies gas to 7.5 million customers through over 210,000 km of gas pipelines. 100 percent Orlen has shares in the company.

Increase in distribution rates

“The new tariff provides for an increase in distribution fee rates by approximately 24.7% on average compared to the rates approved in Tariff No. 12, excluding rates for coke gas,” the office informed.

The Energy Regulatory Office indicated that the total amount of the bill for natural gas includes the costs of purchasing gas fuel and the costs of its distribution (transport). From the beginning of 2025, the distribution tariff in the W-1.1, W-2.1 and W-3.6 tariff groups will account for approximately 25-36%. gas bill.

He also noted that in the first half of next year, the gas sales tariff for the company approved in June 2024 will continue to apply. PGNiG Retail Turnover.

From January 1, 2025, for customers covered by the PSG tariff and the approved PGNiG OD tariff, as well as unfrozen subscription fee rates, in relation to those applicable in the second half of 2024, fees will increase on average by: 7.84%. for recipients from the W-1.1 group, 5.36 percent for recipients from the W-2.1 group, 5.25 percent for recipients from the W-3.6 group.

The Office reminded that the W-1.1 tariff group includes customers who use gas to prepare meals. The W-2.1 group includes people who also use gas to heat water. The W-3.6 tariff group covers customers consuming the largest amounts of gas fuel, including: for heating houses.

The regulator noted that the distribution fee rates, which include a fixed distribution fee and a variable distribution fee, may vary depending on the recipient's location (tariff area).

Approval of tariffs

The President of the Energy Regulatory Office approves tariffs for gas fuel distribution services for all customer groups. On the other hand Tariffs for the sale of natural gas are approved only for households and customers carrying out important public utility tasks.

URE added that gas sales tariffs will be approved by the Regulator for the last time in 2027. However, tariffs for the use of gas infrastructure (storage, transmission, distribution, liquefaction and regasification) will continue to be approved.
