“The power plant consumes 1,000 tons of coal a day, from which it produces 140-150 MW of electricity. Coal reserves will be enough until approximately the end of January, i.e. shorter than the previously announced 50 days” – said the government in Saturday's report Moldova.
Located in Transnistria the power plant was previously powered by Russian gas. Due to its cutting off as a result of the authorities suspending the transit of the raw material from January 1 Ukrainy in Cuciurgan, coal reserves previously accumulated as an alternative energy source began to be burned.
The authorities of the separatist region assured that coal would meet the needs of electricity production almost all winter.
