Christmas should be a time of peace, but Ukraine was brutally attacked, said General Keith Kellogg, the future envoy for Ukraine and Russia in Donald Trump's administration. “The United States is more determined than ever to bring peace to the region,” he added.
“Christmas should be a time of peace, however Ukraine was brutally attacked on Christmas Day. Carrying out large-scale missile and drone attacks on the day of the Lord's birth is wrong,” wrote Gen. Keith Kellogg in a post on Platform X.
“The world is closely monitoring the actions of both sides. The United States is more determined than ever to bring peace to the region,” he noted.
Advisor to the president-elect who was chosen by him as special envoy for Ukraine and Russiacommented on Wednesday's Russian attack on Christmas Day using 70 various types of missiles aimed at energy infrastructure facilities, including thermal power plants.

He wants to end the war as much as Trump
Kellogg is a longtime adviser to Trump. The general's mission will be to fulfill one of the new president's main election promises, which is to end war in Ukraine. Even before he was appointed to his new role, he advocated a ceasefire, security guarantees for Ukraine and at least a temporary exclusion of its membership in the NATO.
In a pre-Christmas interview with Fox News, the general stated that peace in Ukraine is Trump's number one foreign policy priority, and the goal is lasting peace. He also announced that this would happen in the “relatively short term”. Kellogg, like Trump, believes that European countries should take greater responsibility for security matters on the continent, but is in favor of further cooperation on this issue
