The organizers of festivals and other similar events and even flea fairs cancel events in Germany – writes the daily “Bild”. The reason is the lack of adequate security measures before any attacks. The newspaper notes that after recent attacks in Magdeburg and Munich, more stringent requirements were introduced. “Additional costs are five- or six -digit amounts. Too many for most organizers and municipalities,” wrote “Bild”.

Festivities and other events, such as antiques or Easter bonfires, are dismissed in towns all over Germanybecause according to the organizers they are not sufficiently protected against any attacks – wrote on Thursday the portal of the “Bild” daily.

Canceled festivals, fairs and other events

In LAGE 35 thousand in North Rhine-Westphalia, the traditional spring fair was canceled because it was not possible to provide security measures. The organizers would need 30 fire trucks to ensure an adequate level of protection.

The festival of cherry blossoms (in April in Marburg, in the trade union country of Hesse) will not take place either. According to the city authorities, the reason is “a potential threat of terrorism.”

The popular Boelschefest festival in Berlin-Friedrichshagen, taking place in May, was also canceled. Although concrete blocks could secure the streets, you would have to leave space for the tram. It would be a security gap – “Bild” indicates.

“I can't take responsibility”

In Berlin -Frohnau, the Volunteer Fire Brigade will probably cancel the Easter bonfire for fear of attacks – writes the portal. He points out that Berlin is the first trade union country that plans to introduce its own safety right during large events.

“Even the first flea fair is canceled,” the portal noted. In Rheinfelden (Baden) there will be no more municipal flea fair. In the idyllic Schongau (Bavaria) such an event that was to take place on April 5 was canceled.

“I can't take responsibility if a madman really drove people with his car,” the organizer Guenter Fiebig told Bild.

It is similar in the north of the country. There will be no chance to take part in such events as Walpurgia Night (April 30) in Dalgow-Doeberitz (Brandenburg) and “Flooming Wismar” (April 12) in Mecklenburg-Pomerania. The “Pfingstochsenfest” festival in Elmshorn (Schleswik -Holsztyn) was also dismissed – the portal said further.

The new requirements attract “additional costs”

“Bild” points out that after the attack at the Christmas Market in Magdeburg and the attack in Munich, more stringent security measures were introduced. “Additional costs are five- or six -digit amounts. Too many for most organizers and municipalities,” writes “Bild”.

“However, the security of the event should not (longer – ed.) Be a problem because of money,” said the German newspaper portal. “Germany has just taken out a debt of hundreds of billions of, among others, to strengthen the protection of population. Additional money could be allocated to better security of fairs, Easter foci and antique fair. Otherwise, our country will also lose culture,” he wrote.

In December last year There was a terrorist attack in Magdeburgin which the driver drove into people at the fair by car. The perpetrator was a citizen of Saudi Arabia living in Germany for several years. Six people were killed and several hundred were injured.

In February In Munich, the Afghanian drove a car into manifesting people. A two -year -old girl and her mother died as a result of injuries, and at least 39 people were injured.
