Dead fish appeared in the Gliwice Canal and in the Odra River. Polish water employees are on their feet 24 hours a day. They also catch live individuals to examine the cause of the fever. It is known that Karas in the Gliwice Canal suffer from a virus, which is specific to this species of fish.

– Our field employees – nearly 200 people – patrols 24 hours a day, monitor, observe the situation, taking dreams of water from water – says Linda Hofman, spokeswoman for the Regional Water Management Board in Gliwice, the Polish Water Department. – But they also catch live copies, specimens, to be able to transfer them to specialized research to the Veterinary Institute in Puławy – he adds.

The institution assesses the situation as “serious”.

“From April 18, dead fish was observed in the Gliwice Canal and in the waters of the Odra River on the section from the aquatic rank of Koźle (Opolskie Voivodeship, Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski poviat) to the aquatic rank of Januszkowice and from the aquatic rank to Januszkowice to the aquatic degree of Krępa (Opolskie Voivodeship, Krapkowice poviat) Silver karaś ” – informs Przedsiębiorstwo Woda Polskie.

These results apply to fish fished out of the Gliwice Canal. Fish from the Odra are only undergoing analyzes.

Hofman ensures that Polish Waters are in constant contact with the crisis management departments of the Śląskie and Opolskie voivodships.
