London police are looking for the perpetrator of the attack that took place on Monday afternoon in the British capital. A man riding a scooter threw acid on two teenagers in front of a school. A 14-year-old girl was seriously injured in the incident.
The incident took place on Monday outside Westminster Academy school on Alfred Road in London. At 16:42 officers patrolling the area were alerted by the facility's employees, reporting that an unknown substance had been poured on two teenagers. A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital, whose injuries are not life-threatening, and a 14-year-old girl, a student of this school, whose injuries are feared to be serious. A 27-year-old school teacher who rushed to help the attacked teenagers was also injured in the incident. She has already been discharged from the hospital.
Samples of the substance used to attack young people are currently being analyzed. According to the police, it was acid. It is known that upon arrival at the scene and as a result of contact with the substance, two policemen also felt unwell and were briefly hospitalized as a preventive measure, but have since been discharged.

The search for the perpetrator continues
According to Detective Inspector Dean Purvis, who led the investigation, preliminary findings show that “two young people were on Alfred Road when the suspect approached them, threw a substance at them, and then fled towards Harrow Road.” – The (school – ed.) employee bravely and selflessly rushed to help them, sustaining injuries herself – he added.
The police are also asking for help in tracking down the perpetrator and have provided his description. He is a tall, slim, black man who, at the time of the attack, was wearing dark clothes and his face was covered, probably with a mask or balaclava. He arrived at the scene on an electric scooter and escaped in the same way. – If anyone has information that could help us, please let us know. The area was full of people and cars, he said, asking drivers to review the recordings from their car cameras.
“I know how incredibly disturbing this incident is for parents and students and the entire Westminster community. We are in close contact with the school and local authorities. I can assure you that the investigation is ongoing and police will not rest until the suspect is found and arrested, Purvis emphasized.
The Guardian reports that on Tuesday, the school in front of which the attack took place was closed and a policeman was guarding the entrance. However, classes are scheduled to take place as normal on Wednesday.
