Gregory Turnau is one of the musicians who avoid publicity when it comes to their private lives. The artist maintains accounts on social media, but publishes mainly content related to his work. This time Turnau posted a sad message on Facebook. He informed that his cousin, Karol White, had died. The man was also a musician and had quite a large artistic output. White was very closely connected to Krakow.

“My close cousin, the companion of my childhood games and youthful adventures, has died. Born in the States of a Polish-American marriage (my aunt and uncle), he chose Krakow as his place on Earth. He was an excellent guitarist and jazzman, a friend of Janusz Muniak and one of the pillars of his Piwnica na Floriańskiej. He was also a translator. He spoke the beautiful Polish of his ancestors, and a hint of American intonation gave conversations with him a special charm. If you sometimes hear a song about rain on Bracka, think of Karol, because he is there too – and his guitar. And that's how it will stay” – wrote Grzegorz Turnau on his Facebook account.
Karol White had American roots. However, he decided to live in Poland
Karol White earned his living as a translator. However, he was also an excellent guitarist and jazzman. Thanks to his musical achievements, he was known and appreciated among Krakow artists. White was born in the United States, but the city where he felt best for many years was the atmospheric Krakow. It was with this city that he largely connected his adult life. Thanks to his aunt and uncle, Turnau and White became very close in childhood. They were of similar age and liked to spend time together having fun. It is no wonder that for Turnau, the news of his cousin's death was particularly painful. Karol White's funeral will take place on July 24 at 1:20 PM at the Rakowicki Cemetery in Krakow.
