On Sunday, the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Micotakis expressed “cautious optimism” in connection with the seismic situation in the region of the Cycladz Islands, including Santorini. – Experts who constantly monitor this phenomenon, (…) give us reasons to have a little more optimism every day. No one can make forecasts with complete certainty, but there is careful optimism that there will be no bad script – the prime minister emphasized.

The head of government pointed out that the authorities' duty was to take all possible preventive measures to guarantee the safety of the inhabitants of the islands and be prepared for every possible scenario for the development of events.

There is a TVN24 reporter Dominika Ziółkowska on Santorini. – It was so careful optimism, because the Prime Minister of Greece was here at the weekend and said that perhaps this strong earthquake would not happen. There was a felt careful optimism – Dominika Ziółkowska said on TVN24 on Monday. – On Sunday evening 10 small shocks were recorded in 15 minutes – she added.

According to TVN24 reporter, most of the shocks had a magnitude of about 4, but there was one that was about 5. – We sat then with the operator in one of the few restaurants opened here and it was actually a shock – she said.

As Dominika Ziółkowska said, the inhabitants of Santorini are afraid of the earthquakes that took place in 1956. – Two powerful shocks then caused a 25-meter wave of Tsunami. Over 50 people were killed – said TVN24 reporter.

Earthquakes have been reported for many days. – Over seven days, over seven thousand of these small shocks were recorded – noted Ziółkowska.
