Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, senator of the Civic Coalition, referring in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 to the presented partial report on the activities of the prosecutor's office in 2016-2023, stated that this shows that the prosecutor's office “was simply manually controlled.” – Today, the scale of these irregularities is truly shocking – added Dorota Olko from the Left.
On Tuesday, the National Prosecutor's Office published a partial report on the audit of proceedings during the period of the United Right government in 2016-2023. The report covers 200 of the 600 cases investigated by the team of prosecutors at the PK. According to the PK, significant irregularities were found in 163 cases examined.
51 of the total 200 cases were described in separate categories as “proceedings concerning the Regional Prosecutor in Lublin” and “proceedings initiated against independent judges and prosecutors”. Of the 149 remaining proceedings – in many cases concerning extremely high-profile and interesting events – 112 revealed a number of serious reservations which, according to the PK, should result in criminal and disciplinary liability.

Kwiatkowski: the prosecutor's office was manually controlled
Krzysztof Kwiatkowski talked about this matter in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24, senator of the Civic Coalition, former minister of justice and prosecutor general, and MP of the Left Club Dorota Olko.
Kwiatkowski believes that the presented report is “depressing”. – This shows how the prosecutor's office is in times Zbigniew Ziobro it was used as a political tool, (…), it was simply manually controlled – he said.
– All matters where there was even a shadow of a politician PiSin practice they were not carried out or even when they were initiated, they were discontinued – he added.
Kwiatkowski said that the presented partial report indicates a “completely new circumstance.” – We learned today something that has not been said before, which is that these proceedings were initiated without any justification in the evidence and people were held on charges for several years, without any support from any established facts. We didn't know that until now, the senator pointed out.
Olko: time for action is needed
– This is outrageous, and this is only part of the work of this team, because there are 600 cases. So this work is to be continued and further explained (…). And today, the scale of these irregularities is truly shocking, said Dorota Olko.
– On the one hand, those cases that were discontinued where it was in favor of Law and Justice, on the other hand, those that were dragged on where it was politically advantageous – she continued.
According to the Left MP, “the problem is primarily that it undermines citizens' trust in the justice system.” – And in fact, rebuilding it will take a very long time (…). Here we also have to honestly say that the time for reports is coming to an end and time for action is needed, she added.
