This means that our team, after defeating the host team 2-0, is already in the quarterfinals of the Billie Jean King Cup! – commented Sport.pl journalist Łukasz Jachimiak.

It was not an easy match for Iga Świątek, but in the end the Pole won and sealed the Polish women's advancement to the quarterfinals of the Billie Jean King Cup Finals. In it they will face the Czechs, and if they win, their next rivals will be the winners of the Italy-Japan clash.
After the match, the cameras captured the moment when Badosa and Świątek approached each other, hugged and thanked each other for playing.
– Iga Świątek and Paula Badosa hug at the net after the match at the Billie Jean King Cup. After 2 hours and 37 minutes… in the end there is only love – commented The Tennis Letter profile on the website X. Many may have wondered what both players were talking about.
This was also the question Świątek received right after the competition. – It was just between us. I wanted to apologize to her for something that happened during the match. She was totally okay with it, most likely it was just in my head. I said I was happy she came back and played so well. At the end, I told her that I hoped we would play in the final of a Grand Slam tournament soon, admitted the Pole.
Paula Badosa has never played in such a match. Her greatest achievement is 2nd place in the WTA ranking, which she recorded in April 2022.
