Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.
IMWM warnings – icing
Ice warnings apply to the following voivodeships:
- Lower Silesiacounties: Zgorzelec, Lubań, Lwówek, Złotoryja, Karkonosze, Jelenia Góra, Kamienna Góra, Wałbrzych, Wałbrzych, Jawor, Świdnica, Dzierżoniów, Ząbkowice, Kłodzko;
- Opole Provincecounties: Nysa, Prudnik, GÅ‚ubczyce;
- Silesiancounties: Cieszyn, Bielsko, Bielsko-BiałaPodlasie;
- Lesser Poland, counties: Sucha, Myślenice, Nowy Targ, Tatra, Limanowa, Nowy Sącz, Nowy SączGorlice.
It is forecast that the wet surface of roads and sidewalks will freeze after rain or sleet, causing them to become icy. The minimum temperature will be approximately 1 degree Celsius, and the temperature at the ground will be approximately -1 degree Celsius.
Warnings in the province in the Lower Silesia and Opole voivodeships will be valid from 10 p.m. on Tuesday, and in the voivodeship Silesia and Małopolska will come into force at midnight. In all regions they will expire at 8 on Wednesday.
IMWM warnings – dense fog
Dense fog alerts are in force in the voivodeship Lower Silesiain the following poviats: Wałbrzych, WałbrzychKarkonosze, Jelenia Góra. Dense fog is forecast in these regions, with visibility likely to be less than 200 meters in places. The warnings will be valid until 8 on Wednesday.
