IMWM issued meteorological warnings. On Monday morning, there is strong wind in parts of the country and the surfaces are slippery. Heavy snowfall may occur in some regions during the day. Check where it will be dangerous.
Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.
IMWM warnings – heavy snowfall
First degree alerts against heavy snowfall have been issued for the following voivodeships:
- Lower Silesiafor the following counties: Kamienna Góra, Wałbrzych, Wałbrzych, Kłodzko, Dzierżoniów, Ząbkowice. It will be dangerous from Monday from 3 p.m. to Tuesday until 8;
- Opole provincefor the following counties: Nysa and Prudnik. It will be dangerous there from 6 p.m. on Monday until 6 on Tuesday;
- Lesser Polandfor the following counties: Suski, Myślenice, Nowy Targ, Tatra, Limanowski, Nowy Sącz, Nowy Sącz, Gorlice. The rainfall is expected to last from 4 p.m. on Monday until 16 on Tuesday.
Snowfall is forecast there, with periods of moderate intensity, causing an increase in snow cover of 15 to 20 centimeters, especially in areas above 500 meters above sea level.
IMWM warnings – freezing precipitation
First degree warnings due to freezing precipitation apply to the following voivodeships:
- Silesian;
- Lesser Polandoutside the following counties: Proszowice, Bochnia, Brzeg, Tarnów, Tarnów, Dąbrowa, Gorlice.
Light freezing rain or drizzle is forecast in places, causing black ice. In MaÅ‚opolska, the warnings will expire at 7 on Monday, and in the province Silesian – until 12 on the same day.
IMWM warnings – strong wind
IMWM also warns against strong winds. The lowest level alerts were issued for the following voivodeships:
- West Pomeranian Voivodeshipfor the following counties: Świnoujście, Kamieński, Gryfice, Kołobrzeg, Białogard, Koszalin, Koszalin, Sławno;
- Pomeranianfor the following counties: Słupsk, Słupsk, Lębork, Wejherowo, Puck.
It will blow at an average speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, with gusts up to 75 km/h, from the north-east.
The warnings will be valid until 22 on Monday.
