IMWM warns against strong winds. Yellow alerts in parts of the country

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued strong wind warnings for the southern regions of the country. More alerts may appear in the following days.

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings and a threat forecast.

IMWM warnings of the first degree

First degree warnings against strong winds apply in the following voivodeships:

  • Podkarpackiein the following counties: Bieszczady, Lesko, Sanok, Krosno, KrosnoJasielski;
  • Lesser Polandin the following counties: Gorlice, Nowy Sącz, Nowy Sącz.

Strong winds with an average speed of up to 40 kilometers per hour, with gusts of up to 85 km/h, are forecast to occur from the southwest and south.

The alarms will be valid from 6 a.m. on Tuesday until 15 on Wednesday.

There may be further strong wind warnings on Tuesday. Alerts may concern southern counties in the following voivodeships: Podkarpackie, Silesian, Lesser Poland, Opole province and Lower Silesia.

On Friday, yellow alerts warning of strong winds may appear in the southern counties of the voivodeship Podkarpackie and in the northern part of the voivodeships Pomeranian and West Pomeranian Voivodeship.
