If Mr. Karol Nawrocki wants to go to the flood areas, I have made such a proposal to him publicly and I will make it again. Let's go to the dam in Stronie Śląskie together – said Marcin Kierwiński, government plenipotentiary for removing the effects of the flood, in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24.

Minister Marcin Kierwiński was asked on Friday in “Fakty po Faktach” about the boss's visit Institute of National Remembrancecandidate PIS for president Karol Nawrocki in areas that suffered from the September flood. At the beginning of December last year he visited Lądek-Zdrój. He criticized the government and spoke about the need for solidarity with the flood victims. As you can see in the photos published by the head of his campaign team at the time, he was wearing bags.

The government representative for removing the effects of the flood was asked whether he had ever seen Nawrocki or heard that he frequented these areas. – I haven't heard, because Mr. Karol Nawrocki was there for the first time in December and it was probably his last time. Besides, that day I talked to the mayor of Lądek-Zdrój, with whom I am in constant contact. He also had not heard about the greater activity of Mr. Karol Nawrocki – he said.

Kierwiński emphasized that “there is no money that would compensate for the losses these people suffered.” – And doing such a hideous policy as Mr. Karol Nawrocki is doing is truly unethical – he said.

– If Mr. Nawrocki wants to go to the flood areas, I have made such an offer to him publicly and I will make it again. Let's go together to the dam in Stronie Śląskie, the dam that was damaged during the PiS government and that is why Lądek, Stronie, the rural commune of Kłodzko were so devastated – said the government plenipotentiary for removing the effects of the flood. – Let Mr. Karol Nawrocki come to this dam with me and see what the rule of his political cronies has led to – he added.

Kierwiński about helping flood victims

Kierwiński noted that the situation in the post-flood areas is still very difficult because “the actual period of reconstruction, especially of public infrastructure, is still ahead of us.”

Speaking about government aid for flood victims, he said that “98 percent of reconstruction benefits have already been paid, so people have this money physically in their accounts.” – However, many of them actually wait until spring to rebuild their homes – he added.

– Many of those who cannot return to their homes because the scale of destruction is so great are spending their days in other alternative locations. Also at state expense. And they will rebuild their assets whenever possible, said the minister.

Kierwiński said that “the government has secured over PLN 3 billion” for aid activities.

He mentioned “promises for the local government to implement the investment”. As he said, “with this promise, the local government can now decide on tender procedures or proceedings aimed at rebuilding the infrastructure.”

He also talked about the amount of “over PLN 160 million allocated for schools, thanks to the reserve of Minister (Barbara – ed.) Nowacka.”

– We also launch programs such as the one implemented by Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, which is intended to help local governments recreate municipal resources. By restoring this municipal resource, (local governments – ed.) will be able to relocate people who have lost their property there. Some local governments, such as (commune-ed.) Bardo, decide to build housing estates for people affected by the flood. Some, such as Kamieniec Ząbkowicki, buy apartments and give them to people who suffered during the flood, he said.
